Natalie Portman get married in intimate Jewish ceremony
Published on August 6th, 2012 by Gioia & Filed in Natalie. Add Comment

Congratulations are in tall order for spotlight-shy Natalie Portman and her dancer-choreographer beau Benjamin Millepied.

The pair, who have largely kept their relationship under wraps, reportedly wed this past Saturday in an intimate Jewish ceremony in scenic Big Sur, Calif.

Portman, 31, and Millepied, 35, said “I do” around 8 p.m. Saturday before a gathering of family and friends, among them bold-faced names like Ivanka Trump, People reports.

Other details of the hush-hush ceremony are not available.

The nuptials may come as a surprise to some fans who had assumed that the pair had already wed earlier this year. Both Portman and Millepied turned up to February’s Academy Awards with big grins on their faces and shiny bands on their ring fingers.

“They were made with recycled platinum and conflict free diamonds,” jeweler Jamie Wolf confirmed about the rings that he’d designed. “Ben was exceptionally thoughtful and dedicated and patient to make sure we had everything right.”

The happy couple originally met on the set of 2010’s “Black Swan,” which Portman starred in and Millepied choreographed.

In February 2011, a pregnant Portman thanked Millepied during her acceptance speech for giving her “the most important role of my life (motherhood).”

Their son Aleph was born in June.

Portman recently spoke out to France’s Madame Figaro magazine about what having a family has meant to her amid the zaniness that is Hollywood.

“Nothing is more important than my personal life,” Portman told the magazine. “It’s something which comes first, always makes sense, and compared to the happiness of a successful family life, everything else is practically superficial.”

Natalie Portman visits Israel with baby
Published on January 11th, 2012 by Gioia & Filed in Natalie. Add Comment

Hollywood actress Natalie Portman ended her latest visit to Israel on Monday, after touring the Holy Land for almost a week.

Portman, who was born in Jerusalem as Natalie Hershlag, arrived in the country last week accompanied by her fiancé Benjamin Millepied and her six-month-old son Aleph.

One of the goals of the visit was to show off her new baby to her many relatives in Israel.

In order to avoid the paparazzi, Portman hired two bodyguards to accompany her wherever she goes. She traveled in a large car with dark windows and even checked in to the King David Hotel using a false name.

Portman and her family arrived in Israel from France, where Millepied was born and raised. During their visit, they toured the area next to their Jerusalem hotel, as well as the Dead Sea and Tel Aviv.

Portman was often seen sitting in cafés in the Israeli capital, where she kindly posed for photographs with fans and handed out gifts to childhood friends and relatives who arrived to meet her.

On Thursday morning, she ordered breakfast to her room before visiting Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda Market and the Western Wall, where she placed a note.

On Monday, the Oscar-winning actress left Israel and moved on to her next destination. […]

Published on April 24th, 2011 by & Filed in Natalie. Add Comment

Thor star Chris Hemsworth indicated at a London press conference over the weekend that Natalie Portman is confirmed for an appearance in The Avengers. However, Natalie Portman herself revealed today that she is not starring in The Avengers, although she is signed on for two sequels to Thor. Here’s what she had to say below.

“I’m not in The Avengers, but I’m signed up for the next two (Thor ) sequels if they are made. I think these inter-related Marvel movies are great fun. The Avengers will be like Ocean’s Eleven with the superhero all-stars!”

Natalie Portman also revealed that much of the romance between her character, Jane Foster, and Chris Hemsworth‘s Thor will be dealt with in the sequels.

“There is a love story, but it’s very unconsummated. It’s like they fall for each other and then they leave room for the sequel. (Laughs)”

Natalie Dishes on the Black Swan Ballet Battle
Published on April 7th, 2011 by & Filed in Natalie. Add Comment

Sarah Lane, the controversial dancing double in Black Swan, certainly has not been too shy to share her opinion on the Oscar scandal.

In fact, as some suggest Natalie shouldn’t have won the Oscar for her psychological role, Fox Searchlight, Benjamin Millepied and Mila Kunis have all taken to the star’s defense.

The only person we haven’t heard from? Portman, herself.

But even when you’re pregnant, you can’t stay tight-lipped forever…

So what’s N.P.’s take on the dancing double?

“I had a chance to make something beautiful with this film and I don’t want to give in to the gossip,” dishes the very pregnant Portman.

What a wonderful response to completely avoid the controversy, Nat! But even still, it’s not hard to infer how Portman feels—calling it “gossip” and leaving Sarah out the picture? Safe to say Natalie may be a bit put out over the negative press.

As for forgetting to thank Sarah in her Oscar speech? Well, Natalie is so beyond that controversy as well: “I don’t remember my Oscar speech at all, and I’m actually too embarrassed to watch it.”

Can’t blame the gal for wanting to move on. After all, this has always been much more of a studio controversy, but we’re still itching for Natalie’s take on Sarah’s role as an “extra.”

So while N.P. talked about it by not really talking about it, she still could not contain her excitement about one topic: her baby on the way:

“I have to admit, it’s really fun being able to take it easy and not worry about food. At the same time you have to be healthy because there is a person inside me. I do love ice cream and desserts though!”

Glad to hear it, Nat, especially after the 20-pound slimdown for Black Swan. You deserve a break from all your work and need some time to kick back!

As for the other half of this ballet battle? Sarah insists in her most recent essay that she “is not trying to instigate conflict,” but she continues to defend ballet and her original stance—the unrealistic portrayal that someone can transform into a ballerina in only a year.

While Sarah still seems heated, Portman is so skirting this scandal and has put all her attention on her baby and the April 8 release of her new movie, Your Highness.

A fittingly royal move.
