Natalie Portman Goes For A Swim In The New Dior Ad
Published on February 28th, 2013 by Gioia & Filed in Extras,General. Add Comment

Directed by Sofia Coppola, the ad campaign for the new Miss Dior eau de toilette entitled ‘La Vie en Rose,’ is as pretty as the juice inside the bottle. (See video below.)

This is the second time Coppola and Hollywood starlet Natalie Portman have teamed up for Dior perfume; as the Black Swan actress was signed up by the brand two years ago.

Just last year, Portman’s advert for Diorshow mascara was banned in the UK after the Advertising Standards Authority suspected a little heavy handedness with the photo-shopping on her lashes.

This sugar coated film should keep everyone sweet though. Just like the new scent it’s promoting (which for the record is out now exclusively at Selfridges, and goes nationwide on March 1) La Vie en Rose is full of roses for something all together more light-hearted and sweet.

Natalie Portman named most bankable actor by Forbes
Published on January 7th, 2013 by Gioia & Filed in General. Add Comment

“Black Swan” was the dark horse Natalie Portman rode to the top of Forbes’ Most Bankable Actors list.
Films in which Portman stars reportedly earn $42.70 for every dollar she earns on average.

With a budget of about $13 million, “Black Swan,” the critically acclaimed juggernaut, grossed $329 million worldwide.

Her roles in “No Strings Attached” and “Your Highness” were also taken into account. “No Strings Attached,” a romantic comedy with Ashton Kutcher, earned $150 million at the global box office and only cost about $25 million to produce.

“Your Highness,” on the other hand, was a veritable flop. The $50 million budget produced a movie that only grossed $25 million, failing to cover expenses. But that was not enough to topple her ranking as the actor who provides studios the best bang for the buck.

Coming in second place, Kristen Stewart is part of movies that rake in $40.60 for every dollar she is paid. Since the “Twilight” films grossed $3.3 billion worldwide, her return on investment was high.

Stewart received the same salaries as her Twilight co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner for the final films. But Pattison ranked the fourth most-bankable actor, and Lautner placed sixth.

This happened because “Snow White and the Huntsman” – which grossed $400 million with a $118 million budget – pushed her ahead to become the list’s runner-up.

Forbes assembled the rankings by comparing actors’ earnings from the magazine’s Celebrity 100 list with movie grosses and budgets from Box Office Mojo.

“We looked at the last three films each actor starred in over the last three years that opened in more than 2,000 theaters, calculating the return on investment for the studios who pay his (or her) salary,” explained Forbes writer Dorothy Pomerantz, who oversees the Celebrity 100 list.

Forbes did not take into account supporting roles, so Portman’s part in “Thor,” for instance, did not come into play. Even with this money-making marvel omitted, Portman still skyrocketed to the top.

Natalie Portman poses nude for Dior
Published on August 6th, 2012 by Gioia & Filed in General. Add Comment

Dior have stuck to a winning formula with their new advertising campaign by getting stunning actress Natalie Portman to pose naked.

The Oscar-winner de-robed for the photo shoot with photographer Mario Sorrenti to promote the brand’s new Diorskin Nude range.

In one picture, she is draped topless over a chaise lounge pulling her hair off her face. In another close-up shot, she faces the camera with her arms and hair covering her chest to protect her modesty.

Dior promise their foundation, which will be on sale nationwide from 14 September, will give wearers a natural, radiant glow.

As well as the foundations, priced at £31, lip and nail shades in a nude palette are also available. Natalie wears one of the Rouge Dior Nude shades in the adverts.

Dior said the lipsticks, which cost £25, are innovative because they don’t colour lips but ‘blush’ them for a more natural look

This isn’t the first time Natalie has posed topless in her role as the face of Dior beauty. Last year wore just a black headband to promote the brand’s fragrance Miss Dior Cherie.

After seeing these latest pictures, millions of her fans will be disappointed to hear that she is now officially off the market.

The Black Swan actress married Benjamin Millepied, the father of her son Aleph, in an intimate ceremony in Big Sur, California on Saturday.

Natalie, who was born in Jerusalem, had a traditional Jewish ceremony. The couple met in 2010 on the set of Black Swan.

Natalie has always been a proud ambassador of the French fashion house wearing a vintage Dior dress to this year’s Oscar ceremony.

However, she was keen to distance herself from their once creative director John Galliano when a video leaked of him making anti-Semitic comments.

In a statement released at the time she said: ‘I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments.

‘In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr Galliano in any way.

‘I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.’

Natalie Portman Furious Over The Firing Of ‘Thor 2’ Director
Published on January 11th, 2012 by Gioia & Filed in General. Add Comment

One of the things a studio always tries to do with big name actors who are starring in their big budget films is to keep them happy. But it looks like Marvel Studios will be working overtime in that department as Natalie Portman is reportedly furious at the studio over the firing of Patty Jenkins.

Last week, it was reported that Patty Jenkins was no longer directing ‘Thor 2’ due to “creative differences.” It seemed like it was an amicable split as it was suggested that Jenkins would probably have another chance to direct a superhero film for Marvel, it just wouldn’t be ‘Thor 2.’ Now a report from THR is indicating that Jenkins was actually fired without any warning and Natalie Portman is none too happy about it.

Portman was said to be instrumental in the hiring of Jenkins in the first place and strongly urged Marvel to employ her. Prior to this happening, she was considering taking a hiatus from acting to raise her baby boy who was just born last June. Portman decided to return in the role of Jane Foster for ‘Thor 2’ once she heard of Jenkins’ involvement. That and the idea of being part of a project that involved having the first female director at the helm of a big budget superhero movie appealed to her. So it was no wonder that Portman was livid at the studio when the firing occurred. Even though Portman is contractually obligated to film the movie, Marvel is said to be trying to smooth things over with the actress by including her in the discussions to find a replacement director.
